Freedom Is a Manufactured Home
So you’re thinking of joining the world of the manufactured homeowner. In a world where the term “trailer park” is seen as derogatory, it’s important to be aware of how manufactured homes have changed over the years.
When they first came on the scene, manufactured homes were marketed to people who favored mobility in their lifestyle—and that’s the roots we’re getting back to.
From the trendy tiny homes you see in magazines and online, to double or triple wide homes that you can barely tell from a classic bungalow, manufactured homes have a lot to offer.
Anatomy of a Manufactured Home
Manufactured homes are often thought of as interchangeable with modular homes, but this is not the case. Manufactured (or mobile) homes are built entirely in-factory and delivered to your property ready to move into immediately.
Manufactured homes have an anatomy much like any other home, except they do not have basements and are assembled directly on a platform with wheels, for easy transportation. Because of this, flooring is the most important part of the build process. At Quindell Builders LTD, we use high-quality materials to help avoid moisture damage, separation, and sagging and keep your home well-insulated.
Aside from that, you can expect life in a manufactured home to be like life in any other single-storey home. You can even customize the interior to a degree and fill it with the best Energy Star appliances.
Earth-Friendly
As the need for eco-friendly homes amongst new and old homeowners increases, manufactured homes remain one of the best options.
In fact, manufactured homes are able to earn the platinum rating in terms of environmental design meaning they save energy, water, reduce carbon dioxide emissions and improve your environmental quality. From bamboo flooring, to Energy Star appliances, to rooftops that harvest rainwater and feature solar panels, manufactured homes are an incredible help to the environment.
Moving and Assembly
Once your home is built, the cost for delivery and set up tends to fall between $2000-$5000 depending on the size. Depending on your contract, this as well as the set-up cost may be included in your full home cost.
Remember to have your permits and utilities in order before setting up delivery—your inspections will be done prior to and after building the home, but there are still preparations you need to make before the arrival of your home.
Our movers are experienced and on-hand to get your home safely to its new property. We do the research and only employ the best, so you don’t have to worry!
